The splendid new Catholic Church at Pilsen has been completed and the dedication exercises will be held Sept. 28. This church is perhaps the finest in the county, and successful termination of the project reflects great credit upon the people of the Pilsen community.

Contract was let last Friday to V. Bauer & Son for the erection of the new power house. The contract price is $3,736. The street between the building and the Rock Island tracks will be put in good shape and cement walks laid. The plan is to make the whole surroundings attractive.

The two blocks on Walnut street north from Main are to be paved, the commissioners having acted favorably on petition of property owners. It has not yet been definitely decided as to what material will be used. This will complete the paving to the Rock Island station.

E.F. Sheldon, Carl Sheldon, and Rosse Sheets went to Hutchinson on the special train Wednesday, and played with the Hillsboro Band.

Adv—It will be an event long to be remembered when on Sept. 27 the Jones Bros. Big Three-Ring Wild Animal Circus arrives in Marion. Always they have maintained a clean and refined show and this season they have eclipsed all previous efforts to carry still further their standard of excellence in every department.
