The Chamber of Commerce of Marion is offering a cash prize of $5.00 for the best town slogan presented between Friday the 13th and Tuesday the 17th at four o’clock p.m.

Entries should be left with Mrs. Matlock, publicity secretary of the organization.

The mail boxes for the collection of mail have been put up over town this week.

All persons in this community who were in military training or naval service of the United States during the period between April 6, 1917, and November 11, 1918, are asked to meet in the district court room at the Court House in Marion June 18 for the purpose of organizing a post of the American Legion.

The German Baptist people are giving a reception for their returned soldiers tonight. Seven of their boys are now at home.

Refreshments will be served, a program given, and there will be a general welcome home time.

An automobile service will be held in the open air at the Christian Church corner at 8:15 o’clock on Sunday evening, June 15.

Come in your car, which will serve as your pew during the service. In case of bad weather, we will go into the church.
