Decoration Day exercises last Sunday afternoon were the most impressive and well attended which have been held here in many years. A great crowd was in town to do honor to the veterans and an immense procession followed to the cemetery to witness the ceremonies.

James William Miesse Post of the American Legion has secured for exhibition in Marion, June 5th, moving pictures of the 35th Division which were taken in France. They will be shown at the Garden Theater June 6th, both afternoon and evening.

Someone stole Mrs. Fannie Jones’ canary bird out of its cage on her porch the other night. She has had the bird a long time and was very fond of it. Living alone, she found the pet of much company to her. It was an unusually contemptible petty crime.

Charles Curtis, John Propp, Gayl Rutledge and Mr. Vogel returned Monday from Flint, Michigan, driving through four new Buicks for the Propp-Curtis agency. They averaged three hundred miles a day.
