The Burns station on the Santa Fe branch was robbed by four masked robbers after midnight Sunday. They locked Lee Westerhaus, the operator, in a box car and a second operator who come in was forced to stand by and watch the safe being broken into. He was later locked in the box car with the other operator. About $140 in cash was taken. The bandits have not been found.

Mrs. Joe Burkert gave a party June 9th in celebration of the fourth birthday anniversary of her little daughter, Josephine. Little people attending were Josephine Rogers, Mary Jane Powers, Jackie Sheldon, J.R. Delaplain Jr., Paul Williams Jr., Howard Adamson, and Frederick Frazer.

The Q.T. girls and their boyfriends enjoyed a party Thursday night which was in the nature of a farewell for Misses Audrey McBride and Beatrice Miller who were soon to leave for summer vacation. The party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Gardner and was a surprise for Miss Audrey.

The county health officer J.J. Entz, M.D. reports the following communicable diseases have been reported to the office the past three months: Influenza 149, Whooping Cough 12, Pneumonia 11, Scarlet Fever 5, Chicken Pox 6, Mumps 6, Diphtheria 13, Measles 64, and Tuberculosis 7.
