Marion County completed new oil wells the past month with 2,000 barrels daily, more initial production than was completed in Butler County. In Butler County 44 producers were brought in and there were 11 dry holes. In this county, there were 32 producers and 9 dry holes.

Campers who are using the camping ground at the park are enthusiastic about the conveniences and beauty of the place. They go their way singing praises of Marion. They are commenting on the enterprise and interest of city officials in opening this fine camping ground to tourists, free of charge.

The company that is making our metal road signs promises them soon. The big sign has been placed at Little River this week so that the returning tourists can know about our beautiful and live town.

“American Joy Program” of the premier Chautauqua will be in Marion August 26-31. The committee is making plans. Dr. E.L. Braddock will have charge o the season ticket sales.

Marion City Band has been invited to give one of its popular concerts at Stovall’s corner, near Horner station, in the Covert Oil Field next Wednesday evening. We are all going. Watch the bulletin boards for announcements.
