Mr. C.W. Thompson, head of Grand Mercantile Co., has decided to retire from the mercantile game, and to make this possible will hold a sale to dispose of the entire stock. Brooker Bros. Sales Co. will conduct the sale.

Mr. Thompson will represent this district in the state Senate the next two coming sessions, having no opposition in the election to be held next Tuesday.

Harry Bowlby has sold his interest in the Marion Dry Cleaners to Bruce Grimes.

Hutchinson held Marion to a scoreless tie here Friday. Both teams played exceptional football, keeping the crowd constantly in suspense. Hutchinson played a tricky aerial game while

Marion’s heavy “backs” plunged the Hutchinson line for good gains, though neither team had the punch to push the pigskin over the line.
