Bill Adams and his workmen, who were excavating for the cellar of the Carl Sheldon home, dug into a lot of Indian relics Saturday. The lots were recently purchased from Mrs. L.F. Keller.

The graves were about four feet under the ground and at least seven distinct graves were uncovered. Soil of a peculiar color and texture showed plainly where the bodies had lain. All sorts of relics were found—arrow points, bird points, grinder, maul, scraper, etc. Bones were also found.

The Marion High School is backing its football team for the best high school team in the state this year. With four of the season’s games gone and four decisive victories to its credit, it stands in a good way to proving the claim.

It won over the Florence and Douglass teams by tremendous scores. The heavy Emporia team was an easy victim, and last Friday the fighting Marion squad administered an overwhelming defeat to the Wichita high team on the Marion gridiron.

For a real get-together event the Boy’s Band Cake Walk, held at the Rink Tuesday evening, could not be beaten. It was a great time from the start to the finish. The boys were there to furnish music for the occasion under the direction of their leader, Mr. Ross Sheets, and later in the evening the older men gave them a rest while they furnished the music.

On Wednesday evening at eight o’clock at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Thompson, occurred the marriage of their daughter, Miss Mercil R. Thompson, to Mr. Ollie O. Wight.

McMillen threw Wolfe in two straight falls Friday night in the Legion hall. A fair crowd witnessed the match. The match showed some fast work but on a whole was somewhat uninteresting, owing to the fact that McMillen was so clearly the better wrestler.
