Dr. Entz of Hillsboro and Dr. Marner will today complete the physical examination of the first 45 men called in the Army draft for this county. At noon today, all except three had passed the physical tests.
There will be an informal town reception Friday evening in the park for the soldier boys. The band will play. There will be a short, informal program, and refreshments will be served. The soldiers and their ladies are invited to be guests of Harry Rogers at the Auditorium after the reception.
Company M has been called to mobilize here at 9 a.m. Sunday. There will be 132 men and three officers — Captain Allison, 1st Lieutenant Ed V. Burkholder and 2nd Lieutenant Randolph Carpenter.
They will be here about 15 days or until their equipment arrives. As soon as the equipment arrives, they will go into camp on the ground about two blocks east of the Tilson corner. The soldiers will be held here for drills and vaccinations and expect to go from here to Ft. Sill.
Rolley’s Café will serve its regular patrons at regular meal hours and at all other hours except those particularly given over to soldiers. The soldiers’ hours will be from 5:30 to 6:30 a.m., 11 to noon, and 5 to 6 p.m.
The German Baptist Sunday School had a picnic yesterday at Chingawasa, and the Evangelical Sunday School held their picnic at Dunn’s.
