John Thomason, proprietor of the new Marion Harness Co., has this week put out a nice calendar, done at this office. Ogden made the photo, an interior view of the store, which adorns the calendar.

The concert given at the Auditorium Christmas night by Vella Niederhauser and Emma Siebert of Marion, Alice Hey of Hillsboro and Emma Rupp of Canada was only fairly well attended. The program, however, was excellent.

Work is going right along on the alfalfa mill bridge south of town. The bridge is up high and dry, out of the way of high water. The approaches will be built of piling instead of making a fill as originally intended.

Clara Paddock entertained a number of her friends very pleasantly last evening. The room was decorated with mistletoe and the evening spent with music and conversation. A picture was taken of the company. Light refreshments consisting of salad, chocolate, cake, wafers, and candy were served.

Soon after the first of the year Governor Hoch and family expect to return to Marion. There is a project afoot to give them a reception to which the public will be invited.
