Two employees of Frontier Construction, Marion, are busy this week stuccoing the west wall of Stone City Café in Marion. Their boss, Jack Boese, who is working alongside the men, said that after the stuccowork is completed, the wall will be painted to conform in color to the limestone buildings along Main Street.

Several Centre High School basketball players have received 2000-2001Eisenhower All-League basketball team honors. Renee Ecklund, senior, was named to the girls’ team. Greg Klenda, senior, and Justin Makovec, junior, received honorable mention honors.

Alex Case Jr., prominent Marion businessman, died March 20, 2001, at St. Luke Hospital following a heroic battle with cancer.

Chris Holub, a 2000 graduate of Marion High School, completed Marine Corps recruit training March 23 in San Diego, Calif. He is the son of Dan and Rhonda Holub, Marion.

George and Kathleen (Steiner) Oborny of rural Marion will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary April 15 at a family gathering in Pilsen.

Six Marion High School students will have art displayed April 1 to 22 at Salina Central Mall. They are Shawna Hett, Erin Slattery, Ellen Wiedermann, Amanda Ewert, Michael Yates, and Meredith Moore. Their works include photos, acrylics, and collages.
