Development of the industrial park in Marion will benefit everyone because it leads to more jobs, City Administrator Dennis Nichols said Friday at the Marion Chamber of Commerce meeting.

Figures from the 2000 census are being released. They show slight growth in Marion County, considerable growth in urban areas, and considerable declines in much of western rural Kansas.

A fund has been established to help with medical costs for Estelle McCarty of Florence. She was injured Nov. 22 in an automobile accident near Springfield, Mo., and remains hospitalized in Missouri.
