A Marion High School graduate designed the ramp and other improvements just completed at MHS. Aaron Reiswig handled the preliminary designs for a ramp that makes Hill School fully accessible, and to convert the former auto shop into a room for physical education and wrestling.
About $14,000 has been raised toward restoring the former Santa Fe depot into a public library.
Hank Collett of Marion won the Marion Elementary School and Marion Middle School geography bee Monday in the first round of the 2000 National Geographic bee. Jessica Janzen was second. Molly Rhodes finished third. Others competing were Hannah Eis, Eric Steiner, Casey Park, Kirk Hansen, Stephanie Collier, and Clay Riggs.
A series of 18 stained glass windows will be installed in Holy Family Church in Marion over the next few months. Overall cost of the project is about $16,000.
