City and county crews removed the bell on Marion Historical Museum March 15. The city will remove the clapper, repair the frame, and mount the bell on a platform in front of the museum using cut stone recovered from an old bridge.
Alliance Agent Companies have named Case and Son Insurance, oldest business in Marion, “Advantage Agent” for the year 2000.
A tradition continues this week in Colorado. Roger “Bud” Hannaford is skiing. He hasn’t missed a year since 1963.
Glen Dody, a native of Marion, recently took first place in the 400-meter race in the U.S. Senior Olympics. The national meet was held this year at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida.
Two Marion High School juniors, Melissa Moffitt and Sarah Versch, have been selected to attend Sunflower Girls State June 4-9 on the University of Kansas campus in Lawrence.
