After a 20-year hiatus from the Marion City Commission, Bud Pierce is returning to his position as finance commissioner.

Although the temperature dipped into the 30s early Saturday morning, the day dawned clear and still, providing beautiful autumn weather for the annual Lincolnville Octoberfest. Lloyd and Beth Pagenkopf were honored as grand marshals of the parade.

Family reunions published in this issue were those of the descendants of Alex and Susanna Hanschu, George and Emma Ollenberger Hett, and the Bredemeier family.

Braxton Skiles and Stacia Williams are the newly crowned MHS homecoming king and king. Grant Garrard and Stephanie Hajek reigned over the homecoming game at Centre.

Marion Elementary teacher Anita Hancock will perform with the Wichita Chamber Chorale Oct. 21 at Emporia State University.

Twentieth Century Club members and their husbands experienced the Old West Oct. 4 when they visited the Prairie Rose Ranch near Benton and participated in an authentic chuck wagon supper. Hostesses for the outing were Joyce Smith, Janice Case, and Earlene Hague.
