Robbers hit the Pilsen State Bank at Lincolnville at 12:10 p.m. Friday. Anyone having information about the two suspects in the robbery is asked to call the sheriff’s department.

Kelsey Craig, daughter of Kevin and Debbie Craig, and Andrew Brookens, son of Bob and Anita Brookens, both seniors at Marion High School, have been named students of the month by the MHS faculty.

Marion Mayor Eloise Mueller presided over a ceremony Monday afternoon to dedicate the American flag mural on the west wall of the Stone City Café.

Elmer and Lillian Leppke of rural Marion will observe their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 19. The couple recently celebrated the event by visiting their son, Bob Leppke, in Houston. Further celebration will be a family dinner.

Births announced this week included Jayne Lindsey, daughter of Larry and Kristal Timm of Florence; Alexis Dawn, daughter of Wade and Misty French, McPherson; Skylar Rae, daughter of Ben and Natasha Bowers, Anchorage, Alaska; Eli James, son of Dr. Paul and Catrina Loney, Lawrence; and twins, Ira Jacob and Alexandria Eileen, children of Lynn and Jean Hird, Herington.
