Candidates for Marion High School Queen and King of Courts are Jayme Steele, Kelsey Craig, Jessica Ottensmeier, Laramie Trapp, David Tharp, and Keith Dudley. The king and queen will be announced Friday between the halftime of the varsity basketball game.

Farmers came from all around Marion Monday to enjoy John Deere Day at Marion Equipment Co., 902 N. Cedar. Activities included musical entertainment, a roast beef meal, and a video presentation.

Marion High School faculty members have selected Amy Goentzel and Alan Vogel as students of the month. Amy is the daughter of John and Marlene Goentzel. Alan’s parents are Randy and Carol Vogel.

Gene Winkler presided over a home-talent rendition of the popular TV program, “Weakest Link” Monday evening at the annual dinner meeting of Marion Chamber of Commerce. Contestants were Marion Ogden, Dennis Nichols, Feebie Smith, Greg Carlson, Mickey Lundy, Doug Sharp, and Heather Hancock. Nichols was declared the winner.
