Eloise Mueller, mayor of Marion, announced Tuesday that she is not seeking re-election. She plans to remain active in the community and is looking forward to spending more time traveling and enjoying leisure activities.

Emma Shae Box, daughter of Virgilene and Joe Box of Florence, was the first baby born in 2004 at St. Luke Hospital. The young lady was born at 2 a.m. Jan. 14 and is their first child.

The performance of “The Last Gladiator” will be presented by the adult theatre Feb. 7 and 8 at Marion City Auditorium. Cast members are Ken Arnhold, Jami Williams, Andy Hansen, Katie Rahe, Doug Marler, Tom Anderson, Chris Edwards, Hannah Eis, Christen Pantle, Chelsea Arnhold, Rose Davidson, Sheila Anderson, John Lewman, Doug Vogel, and Teri Arnhold.

Mary Melton Lynam, daughter of the late Phyllis Melton, was guest speaker at the St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary annual meeting Thursday. Lynam reviewed the history of St. Luke Hospital and Auxiliary, as presented by her mother at the 1996 meeting, the Auxiliary’s 25th anniversary.

Marion County Economic Development Council will have a booth Feb. 18-22 at the Wichita Sports, Boat, and Travel Show.
