A crowd estimated at 300 people attended a ceremony Saturday at Marion County Lake for the unveiling of the CCC statue. At least 14 former CCC (Civilian Construction Corps) enrollees were present and given special recognition.
2004 Marion High School homecoming king and queen, Dale Vogel and Amber Richmond, were crowned Friday night at the MHS-Ellinwood football game.
Michael and Shelly Padgett of Hillsboro are the parents of twin son, Camden John and Conner David, born Sept. 25 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
Junior Josh Kelsey, whose performance Friday night helped the Warriors defeat Ellinwood, has been selected as Athlete of the Week.
Harry and Margie Bennett recently returned to Marion after serving in the Peace Corps in remote South America. The couple assisted a small village with numerous community projects.
Molly Rhodes and Casey Nelson have been named students of the month at Marion High School. A senior at MHS, Molly is the daughter of Bruce and Brenda Rhodes. Casey is a junior at MHS. He is the son of Steve and Diane Sams and Terry and Sherry Nelson.
