A breakdown of the ballots cast Tuesday on the liquor-by-the-drink question indicated a majority of yes votes in Marion, Florence, and Peabody. Hillsboro voters recorded 656 no votes and 499 yes.

More than 200 motorcycles and 18 classic cars paraded down Marion’s Main Street Saturday in the 11th annual Marion County Toy Run. Donations included 22 bicycles and a mountain of toys. Initial figures show the run raised approximately $10,000 for needy families.

Marion High School graduate Corporal Tamra Holub is pictured as she talks to Ginger Becker’s fourth grade class at Marion Elementary School. Holub is on a two-week break from Iraq where she has been stationed since March.

Dylan Cooper, 18-month-old son of Christina Cooper of Marion, is the winner of the annual cute baby contest at Duckwall’s. The Coopers received at $25 gift certificate from Duckwall’s. The project raised $421 for the Community Christmas Project.

Riley Ross of Marion, Dani Hatfield of Lincolnville, and Selena Seifert of Lost Springs have been named to the annual edition of Who’s Who Among American High School Students.
