Peggy Blackman, coordinator for the RAPS project at Marion Lake Watershed, spoke Thursday to the Marion Lions Club. She talked about the serious sediment problems at Marion Reservoir.

Travis Hett, Marion High School junior, led the Warriors in scoring 18 points against Ellinwood Friday and has been named this week’s Marion County Record Athlete of the Week.

Members of St. Luke Hospital recently received a first dollar of profit plaque from Marion Chamber of Commerce. Marion County Lake has hosted an unusual guest this past month—and American White Pelican. The birds migrate through the Midwest, but typically live further south during the winter.
