In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Marion County Courthouse, this year’s Old Settlers’ Day theme will be “Marion County Courthouse: A Century of Service.”
Twenty-two members of a local biking group, “Rhino Riders,” traveled in a group on motorcycles and in trucks to Sturgis, S.D., in August for a bike rally. John and Sue Gutsch of Lincolnville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 3 with a dinner at the Lincolnville Community Building.
Births announced in this issue include those of Earl Reece Mueller, son of Craig and Heather Mueller of Newton; Addison Marie Cooper, daughter of Josh and Shannon Cooper of Marion; and Easton Michael Barnett, son of Gary and Crystal Barnett of Salina and great-grandson of Robert and Rose Mary Neuwirth of Pilsen and Joe and Connie Alvarez of Lost Springs.
Kari Tajchman, daughter of Kay and Charles Tajchman of Marion, is pictured with this week’s Produce Derby entry, a 51-pound watermelon, grown by her father.
