Marion City Council voted 5-0 Monday to build a 10,000 square foot building in the city’s industrial park. The metal shell building will not have a floor. A lease purchase agreement will be drawn with a local bank.
Cooperative Grain and Supply and Land O’ Lakes Foundation have provided Marion Fire Department $1,200 to be used toward the purchase a thermal-imaging camera. More than $9,000 is needed to purchase the camera, which will save lives, property, and time at fire scenes.

When top Kansas 3-A runners participate in the state championship at Wamego Saturday, three Marion High School runners will be among them. Danielle Cope, Camille Christensen, and Daniel Goentzel scored top 10 finishes in regional competition Saturday in Wichita to qualify for the state meet.
Les and Berniece Broadstreet were Sunday noon luncheon guests of Alex and Edna Lorei at Ramona Café. The occasion was to celebrate Alex’s 90th birthday and the 67th wedding anniversary of the Broadstreets.
