This year’s winner in the annual Duckwall’s Cute Baby Contest to benefit Community Christmas is Ripley Helmer, six-week-old son of Charlie and Misty Helmer of Marion. Janie Meierhoff presented the Helmer family with a $25 gift certificate to Duckwall’s and a check for $889 to Community Christmas representative Margo Yates.

Members of Marion Boy Scout Troop 102 are building a brick sidewalk at the Marion airport. Scouts pictured working on the project includes Patrick Hodson, Charles and Timothy Stuchlik, Aaron Molleker, Dillon Richmond, Dylon Goebel, Spencer Fugitt, Brayden Putter, Adam Palic, and Adam Molleker.

Approximately 100 motorcycles and classic cars participated Saturday afternoon in the annual Marion County Toy Run.

Seniors Emily Svoboda and junior Brett Billings have been designated students of the month for November by staff of Marion High School. Svoboda is the daughter of Terry and Mary Svoboda. Billings’ parents are Erick and Myrta Billings.

An article by Rowena Plett features Danny Williamson of Tampa, who is making it big producing and selling heritage turkeys. Williamson has shipped thousands of gobblers to Heritage Foods USA where they will be processed and sold fresh as heritage turkeys, meaning they were raised free range and on natural feed.
