Marion County Commission is considering a resolution that would require inmates to pay for hygiene supplies, use of clothing and bedding, meals, and to be responsible for medical expenses while incarcerated. Final consideration will be in a couple of weeks.
Ken and Sunny Christensen of Marion will host Julian Frobose of Spenge, Germany, for the fall 2007 school year. The German student will arrive in August and attend Marion High School.
Mike Helmer, a 1990 MHS graduate, has found himself in select company after taking his Wichita South girls’ basketball team to the 6A state tournament this season.
Demolition of the current swimming pool began Tuesday, and construction for the new one should start the first week in April.
Norma Hannaford, “Random Thoughts” columnist for the Marion County Record, will be featured on Hatteberg’s People at 10 p.m. March 18 on KAKE.
Three members of the Marion High School boys’ basketball team and one from the girls’ team were honored by the Mid-Central Activities Association. Senior Erin Carr was named to the honorable mention MCAA team. Jason Hett was unanimously named to the leagues’ first team, fellow senior Travis Hett to the second team, and junior guard Calvin Jeffrey to the honorable mention team.
