Marion-Florence USD 408 purchased, on Thursday, a 1998 Bluebird Motor Coach for $49,900. It will replace a 19-year-old yellow activity bus in need of repairs that had just one year of operation remaining according to state law.

Marion Middle School seventh grade scholars’ bowl team posted a 7-1 overall record April 7 at Halstead to take first place in the MCAA League championship. Team members were Nick Meyer, Zach Robson, Kaelyn Thierolf, Alicia Maloney, Caitlyn Maloney, and Tim Noller.

The historic Allison home near Florence is one of those featured in the Home Improvement section of this issue. A.N. Allison built a two-stone stone home in 1873. One hundred years later, Les and Linda Allison began a renovation process.

A modern log home, completed in 1978 and updated a few years ago, is attached to the original 1873 limestone house and continues to be used be used by the Allison family.
