Keystone Pipeline is proposing to lay 35 miles of steel pipe running north to south across Marion County next year, roughly between Remington Rd. and Marion Reservoir.

More than 200 people attended the Friday relocation of the Old Lost Spring Station monument 2½ miles west of Lost Springs. Only metal items and Indian arrowheads remained intact when the time capsule was opened.

Friends and former students are invited to a farewell party from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Valley United Church honoring Pauline Edmunds, who is planning to move to a retirement home in Cordell, Okla.

Two Methodist ministers began new assignments this week. Rev. Moon-Hee Chung is the newly-appointed pastor of Florence and Aulne United Methodist churches and Faye Wagner has been appointed to Valley United Methodist Church in Marion.

Harry Bennett of Marion joined nine others from Kansas who traveled to Japan for 13 days in May as participants to a program called Global Partners for Local Organic Foods. Bennett is the marketer for Kansas Organic Producers.
