Plans are being made for the annual community Thanksgiving Day dinner. A traditional dinner will be served noon to 1:30 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at Marion Middle/High School Commons. Marion Ministerial Alliance sponsors the event with assistance from community volunteers.

Area farmers took advantage of a brief window of opportunity Monday and Tuesday to get some harvesting done after two weeks of cloudy, damp weather.

Members of Marion Chamber of Commerce gathered Thursday at Spur Ridge Vet Hospital, 901 N. Industrial St., Marion, to welcome the business to the community and to present owner Brendan Kraus with his first dollar of profit plaque.

Two pictures in this issue are of class reunions held on Old Settlers Day — the 50th anniversary of graduation of Marion High School class of 1949 and the 45th of the class of 1964.

H1N1 vaccines were dispensed this week to health care workers and students. Doses are not yet available for the public but should be in the near future according to county health department director Diedre Serene.
