Members of Good News Christian Church provided a live nativity Sunday evening at the church. Participating in the display were Bob Vance, John Dicks, Olivia Dicks, Douglas Calam, Ruth Walker, and Val Newton.

A large crowd gathered Saturday afternoon in downtown Marion for a chance to win gift certificates as part of the Marion County Record’s “Christmas Magic” promotion.

Winners in the weekly drawings have been Kathleen Svitak, Clark Whitwell, Colleen Brunner, Sharon Bina, Gemma Davies, Lois Smith, Robin Arocha, Don Druse, Jackie Hett, Shawn Voth, Jody Loomis, and Terri Bishop.

As a way of “paying back” the Marion community for its support, Michael Brookens will present a vocal recital at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Performing Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Marion Elementary students of the month for December are Hannah May, Madison Ruck, Brandon Lange, Robyn Anderson, Ethan Darnall, Meggan Frese, Payton Harms, Laura Savage, Tori Allen, Eli Riggs, Paige May, Sydnee Baldwin, Abby Kuster, Seth Savage, and Eli Hett.
