Marion County Commission was told Monday that pipe segments for TransCanada’s Keystone Pipeline will be arriving in Marion County in the next week or two. Pipes will be taken to a staging point at the intersection of 290th and Quail Creek Rds.

James and Violet Richmond of Marion will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 20. The couple owned and operated Marion Lumber Company in downtown Marion for 40 years.

Youth of Good News Christian Fellowship held a bake sale Saturday to raise aid for earthquake survivors in Haiti.

Involved were Ruthie, Naomi, and Peter Walker, Wesley, Olivia, Robin, and Madison Dicks, Beth Nesser, Nathaniel Stang, and Douglas, Abigail, and Austin Calam.

Jacob Stoneberger, Abigail Svoboda, and alternate Bolden Crane, all sixth graders, were winners of the Centre Elementary School Spelling Bee. They are representing CES today at the Marion County Spelling Bee.
