Marion County Commissioners approved an agreement Monday with TransCanada for the Keystone Pipeline to go through the county.

38 Special will return to Marion and be the headliner June 5 during the weekend Chingawassa Days festival.

Kent Nelson is pictured, working on what will end up being a piece of art, as he carries on the legacy of Copper Shed founder Ern Hett. Hett, who died in 1997, was the mastermind of turning countless household items and discarded articles into works of art at his workshop southwest of Marion.

Marion High School wrestling team won its regional meet Saturday at Marion. It is the first regional win in the 11-year history of the Marion wrestling program.

MHS wrestling coach Chad Adkins was named regional coach of the year following the tournament.

Valera Morgan of Marion is pictured as she looks through an album of pictures signed by entertainers for whom she prepared meals during the 19 years she worked at the Kansas State Fair.

During her years at the fair, she met some of the country music’s biggest stars, including Garth Brooks, George Strait, and Reba McEntire.
