June Jost died March 4 at St. Luke Hospital. A retired iconic law enforcement officer, who was a Marion police officer and also served 14 years as Marion County Sheriff, will remain in the hearts of many whose lives he has touched.

Marion High School Lady Warriors Erin Meierhoff, Julia Zeiner, Bridget Lundy, Lindsay Hett, Kayley Heerey, Danae Edwards, and Sarah Guetersloh are pictured as they proudly display their trophy after a 52-41win over Eureka Saturday in the finals of the substate basketball tournament. The team now advances to the state tournament in Hutchinson.

The family of Mary Ann Wiens gathered Feb. 20 at Marion Senior Center to celebrate her 80th birthday. The guest of honor was presented with more than 200 family photos.

An article by Adam Stewart features Michael Ottensmeier, Marion County deputy sheriff, who says “Solving problems peacefully is all in a day’s work.” Ottensmeier’s law enforcement career has spanned more than two decades with local, county, and state agencies in Kansas and Texas.
