Over 250 artists will be in Central Park Saturday for Marion’s 32nd Art in the Park and Craft Show. The event will feature live entertainment at the gazebo and a food court with vendors selling bierrocks, limeades, roasted corn, funnel cake, and more.

Citing “long-standing bad blood” among the two, the attorney general ended a five-month investigation without filing charges against Marion mayor Mary Olson or city administrator David Mayfield.

Olson had been accused of damaging the reputation of Seacat Do-It-Best Hardware by questioning its solvency after it received a grant. The store later closed.

Mayfield was accused of trying to damage Olson’s reputation by asking city council member Gene Winkler to convene a council meeting and request an investigation of her behavior.

MHS homecoming candidates are Tristen Snelling, Raelene Allen, Chassidy Carlson, Adam Cope, Randy Regnier, and Jordan Versch. King and Queen will be crowned during homecoming ceremonies at Friday night’s football game vs. Bennington.

Dillis Owen, owner of Carved in Stone of Wilsey is pictured as he works on a railing at the Elgin Hotel. The original railing was not tall enough to meet safety requirements, so Owen was hired to put the ornamental railing in a taller frame.
