There was a time when the 1940s-era Marion City Auditorium was the only facility of its kind in town.

With the addition of the USD 408 Performing Arts Center, the old auditorium became an opportunity for development and Marion Advancement Campaign has stepped up and assumed responsibility for the renovation now in progress

This year’s Old Settlers Day parade is celebrating 100 years of scouting. Grand marshal of the parade will be Eugene Enos who has been involved with Boy Scouts for 68 years.

Randy Regnier and Tristan Snelling are pictured as they embrace following being named Marion High School homecoming king and queen prior to the Warriors football game against Bennington. The Warriors defeated Bennington, 35-20.

The Colletts are gathering this weekend to celebrate the 150th anniversary of their arrival in the Marion and Chase county areas. The family established a village on Middle Creek Rd., which they named Elk.

Fall homecoming candidates at Centre High School are Allison Shields, Tori Marler, Katie Remy, Rustyn Kerbs, Tanner Brunner, and Brian Burhoop.

Don Hett of rural Marion and Mark Penner of Peabody are pictured as they install new shingles on the roof of the home of Randy and Patti Richter of Peabody. Randy recently had some health problems, but is doing well. These two men and others are members of a large group of volunteers from Aulne United Methodist Church and Burns Mennonite Church working at the Richter home.
