Sophomore Jordan Hett won the Marion Invitational cross-country meet Thursday and is this week’s Marion County Record MHS Athlete of the Week winner. Hett led the race the entire way and finished with a time of 18 minutes 9 seconds.

Crowned fall homecoming king and queen Friday at Centre High School were Rustyn Kerbs, son of Russ and Julie Kerbs of Tampa, and Katie Remy, daughter of Tom and Lynley Remy of Lost Springs. The Cougars have a record of 4-0 after their 56-8 homecoming victory over the White City Huskies.

The public is invited to participate in numerous activities that will take place Saturday during the Lincolnville Octoberfest celebration.

The fourth annual Marion County Lake chili cook-off will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the lake hall. Also featured will be a corn hole pitching tournament and lake-wide garage sales.

Senior Citizens of Marion County, Inc. will celebrate 50 years at their annual meeting Oct. 21 at Marion Senior Center. Speakers will be; former directors, Joyce Clark and Noreen Weems.
