Lincolnville entrepreneur Letizia “Tish” Vinduska is harnessing the power of African night crawlers’ digestive systems, turning worm poop into profit at Letizia Ann’s All-Natural Soil Enhancer.

Prospective buyers have started bidding on a cache of 49 rifles, shotguns, revolvers, and air guns at Steve Hett’s estate sale. Hett, who died in April, had a collection of outdoor gear and taxidermy so vast that it needed its own auctioneer for nearly five hours while a separate auctioneer sold other belongings at his farm northwest of Florence.

Erik Barnes of Peabody thought he had come up with a great father-daughter project for daughters Paige and Rayna — a 36-mile canoe trip after the Fourth of July in the Current River near the Missouri boot heel. However, while camping 21 miles into the trip, Rayna was bit on her foot by a copperhead snake and had to struggle up a hill to get a caretaker to call an ambulance 35 miles away.
