Marion City Commission on Monday has approval, tentatively, to issue up to $9.5 in revenue bonds for a city electric generation facility. Unless at least 20 percent of qualified voters submit a written protest within 15 days, the issue will go to city voters in a special election. Otherwise, the city can go on with the project.
Jinx and Don Wright and Virginia and Boyd Higgins of Hutchinson and Rosse and Janice Case recently drove to Pensacola Beach, Fla. They spent 12 days traveling and seeing the sights in the area. The three couples were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversaries, all of which occur in 1999.

A game built by Marion Manufacturing has found a home in Munich, Germany. In The Zone, a computerized basketball game that moves the basket to provide the player with different shots, was installed earlier this month at Olympic Spirit in Munich, a theme park based on Olympic Games.
