Ominous storm clouds converged on Marion County shortly after 4 p.m. Monday, forming into tornadoes over Marion Reservoir and advancing to the northeast toward the community of Lincolnville. Bruce Hedstrom of rural Lost Springs reported his garage was destroyed and the roof of his home damaged by the storm.
William Oborny, a native of the Pilsen community, will retire in June as superintendent of Marysville Unified School District. He is a brother of George, John, and Father Paul Oborny.
Taking first place in the Lions car show Saturday was a dark blue 1927 Buick owned by Rod Williams of Florence.
Trudy Jost and Lindley Slifer, both of Marion were married March 21 on the Port of Houston, a ship of the MS Norwegian Sea Cruise Line.
“Beary Special Babies” born at St. Luke Hospital during April were Courtney Paige Seadeek, April 4 and Taylor Diann Pontius, April 21.
