What could be a bold economic opportunity for Marion County will be unveiled Aug. 27 when Southwestern Bell’s newest FiberPark is dedicated. Located in Marion Industrial Park on U.S.-56, the FiberPark will offer opportunity for industrial expansion.

Marion native Debi Kreutzman recently was promoted to the position of regional manager at Community Hospice in Wichita.

New teachers in Marion Unified School District are psychologist Regina Kimbrel, third grade teacher Diana Meisinger, music teacher Andrew Homburg, special education teacher Terry Edwards, speech and language pathologist Paula Barta, and third grade teacher Gina Cox.

Pleasant memories mingled with sadness Thursday as almost 100 people gathered at Lincolnville’s 4-H Building to pay last respects to Tiemeier’s Store that was closing. The event was sponsored by Lincolnville Wide Awake 4-H Club. Mabel Tiemeier, wife of the late Edgar Tiemeier, and their daughter Jeanine Geiler, were on hand to receive well-wishers from the community. Former and present employees at the gathering included Ardella Krause, Kenny Rindt, Fred Podzus, Carolyn Chizek, and Kim Czarnowsky.

Wood trim has been replaced around the opening for the east face of the courthouse clock and the clock faces and hands replaced. The clock’s four, 200-pound faces were removed about a month ago to be sandblasted and painted.
