Work was begun on the hill sewer main on Elm street this week. It will be a “rocky road to travel.” Several residents along the sewer have their sewer connections started and will be ready by the time the sewer is completed.

The ladies of the Baptist church will hold a sale of aprons and sunbonnets, also a food exchange, Saturday at 11 o’clock at E. A. Hodges music store, west end Main street.

Geo. Buckley has almost completed the remodeling of his home and now has a commodious two-story house on his Billings & Water street property.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wheelock returned last Saturday to remain for the summer. Henry has had a very profitable trip with his opera troupe.

The Dean auto conveyed a pleasant little picnic party out to Chingawasa last Friday evening. The party was composed of Miss Flora Morse of Emporia, Misses Clara Frazer and Eva Bryan and Messrs. Laird Dean and Louis Keller.

The Marion Band will give a concert at the Auditorium at an early date for the purpose of securing funds to purchase new music. We are proud of our Band and will all be glad to patronize their entertainment. Watch for the date.
