Have you noticed the awnings on the west side of the courthouse? If you haven’t, you have missed something. Would it be entirely out of place to respectfully suggest that if it is out of the question to have new awnings, that those rags be gently but firmly removed?

Mr. Bessier, who is getting ready to open up a men’s furnishings store in the room west of Loveless’ store, is here, and his goods have begun to arrive. The room has been re-decorated and looks fine.

Victor Murdock, Progressive Party candidate for United States senator, spoke here Saturday evening.

Geo. Hauser had one of the bones in his right forearm broken the other day. He was cranking a car for another man when the man at the wheel advanced the spark. The crank kicked and did the damage.

The post office folks have planned to open their new quarters to the public Friday and Saturday. The public will be invited to go behind the scenes and see how everything is arranged.

Contract was let yesterday evening to Mr. Stanton of Leavenworth for the paving of Santa Fe St. from the Elgin Hotel three blocks west, to the Free Methodist Church corner. Paving blocks with asphalt filler — same as the Main St. paving — are to be used, and the street is to be 21 feet wide. This is five feet narrower than the Elm St. pavement and four feet narrower than that on Denver St.
