City commissioners have passed a formal resolution in favor of the purchase of new engines for the power plant and wish to assure the people that the matter of the proper engines to buy will be thoroughly gone into and further reports made as soon as possible.

Tomorrow will be a big day for school people. The county track meet will be in the afternoon, with 40 participants from the high schools of Marion, Florence, Lost Springs, and Burns. A literary contest will be in the evening.

Issued marriage licenses include Wm. E. Rupp, Canada, and Jennie M. Crist, Marion; Z.A. Brickell and Bonabeth Gruwell, both of Marion; and John Schultz, Lehigh, and Lena Loewen, Hillsboro.

John Gardner, S.W. Williamson, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Forney were in Kansas City last week. While there, Mr. Forney purchased a new car — a Chevrolet.

They are making the trip home in their car by way of Manhattan, where they will visit with Mr. and Mrs. George Riggs and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Currence.

Mr. Gardner and Mr. Williamson, who are agents for Chevrolet, also brought a car home, making the trip last Sunday.
