The Elgin Hotel has changed management this week. The new proprietress is Mrs. D.E. Munro. Mrs. Munro comes to us from Kansas City. She has 18 years’ experience in the hotel business, having spent nine years in Wilson, and comes recommended as a competent, pleasant hotel lady.
Alexander Hanschu, G.J. Bernhardt, Christ Deines, and C. Cornelsen have filed applications for citizenship this past week.
C.A. Stebbins from near Antelope brought in a stock beet that measured 20 inches from tip to tail and 18 inches around the equator. The vegetable weighed 10 pounds 7 ounces.

Harry Rogers has installed a Bell telephone at the Auditorium and remodeled the ticket office.
Morris Williams, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Williams, was quite severely hurt last Saturday. While he was playing with a little wagon, the front wheels came off. As he fell, his hip was torn by a bolt. Eight stitches were taken. He is better and able to be around some now.
Mr. and Mrs. Nodie Baker and little son attended the circus Thursday in Wichita.
Three new firms are now making use of the general delivery system in our town. They are Marion Pharmacy, Riddle Pharmacy, and Fred D. Hawthorne’s shoe store.
