The Peabody boys beat the Marion boys in the Marion-Peabody relay race last Saturday. The day was clear and bright, and aside from a rather stiff, sharp wind from the south, was ideal for the event. The Peabody average was a mile in 5 minutes 57 seconds; the Marion average, 7 minutes 13 seconds.

A large number of neighbors and friends gathered Nov. 16 at Pilsen to witness the wedding of Lella Svitak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Svitak, and Frank Vinduska, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Vinduska.

The O’Bryant Orchestra played a number of selections yesterday evening at the Auditorium preceding a program by the Old Glory Quartet. It is a splendid orchestra.

Little Jean Hoch celebrated the third anniversary of her birth last Monday afternoon with a party for her little neighborhood friends. Guests were George Eye, Mildred Good, Freda Greer, Evelyn and Margaret Hauser, Wharton Hoch, Helen Loveless, Ruth and Margaret Richardson, Catherine Riddle, Maurice Siebert, Madeline and Owen Smith, Baby Thorp, Ford Watson, and Maurice and Otis Thompson of Dodge City.

The Geometry II class at Marion High School has decided to have a funeral and bury its textbooks. The students are getting so advanced that Mr. Shuler decided they were too smart for their books.
