Fred Griffiths and son John Griffiths have sold their splendid grocery business to John C. Witt, who has a chain of eight or 10 stores in Kansas and who lives in Topeka. The store will be under the management of Mr. E.G. Schimp, who comes from Emporia.

Lizzie Propp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Propp, and Joseph Vogel, son of Martin Vogel Sr., were united in marriage March 1. The wedding was a quiet home one and took place at the home of the bride.

Jacob Good has bought the Clyde Loveless residence, and Clyde Loveless has bought from Good the residence known as the Moulton property — the place now occupied by Mrs. M. Mollohan. The move is being started this week. Mrs. Mollohan will move to the residence vacated by Good and family.

Special attention is called to the fine stallion, Haras, that Jos. Dvorak will offer at his big sale March 9. Haras is a superb horse — a regular show horse, fine action, and with a great colt record.

From the hospital notes: Mrs. Bell Sparks, living on the Hauser farm north of town, is a patient here, having been accidentally shot Monday morning while at work. A brother was cleaning his rifle, and it was unexpectedly discharged, the ball entering her side. The ball was not located, seeming to be lodged in tissue. She is doing nicely.
