Fred Lewis went to Emporia on Monday to begin work as foreman of construction on a big new building to be erected for the State Normal. Erection of the building will take perhaps a year. Mrs. Lewis has gone to Herington to visit her daughter, Mrs. Wayne Riddle, and will go to Emporia when Mr. Lewis has made arrangements for a house.
A flower campaign — the beautifying of lawns and all that sort of thing — is being urged for Marion this spring. Help it along. Let every yard have some flowers in it. With little expense, the town can be made very beautiful.
F.L. Rutledge began his ministry last Sunday at the Methodist church here. He and his family have already won a place in the esteem of the people here.
In mentioning the fact last week that Robert Hill had bought the Mott dairy business, we failed to state that Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stiller have been placed in active charge of the business. They are excellent young people and will no doubt conduct the business in a fine way.
On account of bad weather last Sunday, the O’Bryant Orchestra was unable to get out to the County Farm, but if the weather will permit, the entertainment will be held there next Sunday from 4 to 5 o’cloc
