Observance of Decoration Day on Tuesday was one of the finest the town ever witnessed. Weather was fine, and the spirit of people seemed particularly responsive to the meaning of the day.
A large portion of the north retaining wall forming the east approach to the stone arch bridge gave way yesterday evening, carrying a large section of the walk with it. The wall, which was put up about 30 years ago, was laid without mortar. Rebuilding will begin at once.

Harry Rogers had a clown band on parade Saturday to advertise a circus serial picture that begins tonight. The band rode on a transfer wagon all decked out in regular circus fashion. The players behind the paint were Tom Braley, Charlie Brooker, Stanley Forney, Maurice Miesse, Forest Ray, and Harry Rogers.
Mr. and Mrs. Grant Winne and daughter of Canton will take possession of the George Loveless property on the hill sometime before the 10th of June.
