Fifty brass bands are to toot at the inauguration of Mr. Cleveland but we reckon Republican office holders won’t enjoy the music.

Another heavy snow fell here the first of this week.

Albert Downes set up two boxes of cigars Wednesday. Had it been a boy, we have a notion he would have set four boxes.

Walter Sharp made his first Shipment of Mineral Water, last week. It was consigned to parties in Abilene. His bath tubs have arrived, and he will have his bath house completed as soon as the weather will permit.

Mr. W.H. Wren, one of our well known and best farmers, living five miles northwest of this city, has purchased from A. Franson & Son, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, one of, perhaps, the best stallions ever brought into this country, Lochengar No. 78, the winner of a number of premiums, among which is a diploma for the best stallion of any age up to two years old, which he won in this year old form, and in his two year old form won the silver medal for the best draft stallion of any age in all Canada. This horse is beyond doubt well worth the attention of all horse raisers in our midst. The pedigree, certificate of registry, diploma, silver medal, etc., we have seen, and can be seen by anyone, at any time, by interviewing the present owner.

The new Methodist church at Peabody, which is by far the largest and best church edifice in the county, will be dedicated on the 8th. Everybody cordially invited.

Mr. J.R. Westbrook had a fortunate fall on one of our street crossings, the other day, in that there was very little harm done. But, he says he knows that everybody that falls isn’t drunk.

The Fast Asleep boys didn’t get rich at their ice cream and oyster social at Rogers Hall, last Friday night, but then they had lots of fun.
