For the first time in many years, the White House was graced with a Christmas tree last Tuesday evening and baby McKee and grandpa Ben and all the other occupants of that stately mansion were happy.
We doubt if Marion has ever done more business in any ten days of its history than it has done during the ten days just past. Nor is this merely our own opinion, but it is backed by the opinion of business men who have been here for many years.
Miss Anna Bown’s department in our city schools closed last Friday afternoon with a live Santa Claus and lots of “goodies.” Miss Bown, who is one of the most efficient and popular teachers who ever graced a Marion school room, was the recipient of handsome presents from some of her pupils.
