The Lincolnville post office was burglarized Tuesday night. The safe was blown open and fifteen or twenty dollars and some stamps taken. The postmaster, Mr. John Sill, also misses some articles from his store.

The long cold spell, unprecedented in Kansas’ history, let up last Saturday and since that, we have been having some typical Kansas weather, warm and bright. You can almost hear the corn grow.

Mr. E.L. Snider, one of our best citizens, and an old soldier, has just had his pension raised from six to twelve dollars a month. And a chunk of arrearages to the amount of $115 was thrown in. These are the locals we like awfully well to print.

Mr. S.P. Bown has his new grocery in full blast. It is next door to the Record bank building and will be known as the Red Front Grocery, the color of the paint being in harmony with the name. Mr. Bown was, years ago, one of Marion’s most successful merchants and his old friends welcome him back to business on Main Street.

Mr. M.S. Bryan is helping in the Hillsboro bank while Brown Corby and his family are on a three weeks’ visit east.
