An effort is being made to raise funds with which to complete the Presbyterian church. It is proposed to build a cupola, finish the inside of the church and supply the building with a bell. We hope the effort will succeed.

We deem it a reproach to the town that it has but one church building and that one incomplete. The one building that we have, however, is a good substantial stone one and will always be a credit to the place.

Houses are springing up like magic. Stone can’t buy lumber fast enough to supply the demand.

Mr. Calhoun’s residence will be a good one of the best frame residences in town.

We understand that a new grocery is about to be started adjoining Widmeyers establishment.

The Marion Centre brickyard has a kiln in process of burning which when completed will place another sixty thousand bricks on the home market. And they’ll go off just like the others did—fast. Marion Centre should furnish the county, at least, with bricks.
